Razing Core - A Vertical Shoot 'Em Up for the Sega Master System that's well worth checking out

Searching through my emails looking for any interesting games to write about, and I've been reliably informed that the eagerly awaited Shoot 'em up called 'Racing Core' by Badcomputer with music by Lovepenguin has finally been released for the Sega Master System/Mark III. A game that not only looks pretty decent, but there's plenty of fun to be had blasting waves of enemies, all the while listening to a rather upbeat master system soundtrack. This fast-paced title puts players in the cockpit of the Horizon, a deep-space vessel yanked out of a routine mission by a mysterious entity known as the Core. Pulled along at light speed straight toward a vulnerable Earth, players suddenly drop out of hyperspace directly into a brutal intergalactic war zone. Armed with the Horizon's native weaponry and supplemented by the Core's unexpected tactical assistance, players must blast their way through a massive alien armada to secure humanity's survival.

Feedback from players about the game so far seems rather positive, with the game delivering an intense, arcade-quality experience complete with smooth 60fps scrolling and impressive sprite counts. Bad Computer has packed the game with substantial depth as well, featuring seven sprawling stages set across the solar system, massive screen-filling bosses, and uniquely challenging mid-bosses.
