Sam's Journey NES Review by Thermoptic! Will this be another HIT game?

As a kid growing up with the Nintendo, every time you got your hands on a new game, it was an exciting moment. Back then, time seemed endless, but the choices of games were limited, each game from that era became a treasured gem. Over the years, a handful of games remained etched in our memories - titles like Mega Man, Duck Tales, Metroid, and of course the iconic Super Mario Bros series. They all shared something special: vast worlds of levels to explore, challenges to conquer, and a selection of abilities, equipment, or power-ups to aid you in your adventure. Even today, we still play these classics, but finding new ones in the same style as Super Mario Bros. 3 or Kirby's Adventure is a rarity. However, this is about to change. This year brings forth a fresh, epic adventure to the Nintendo Entertainment System - the name to remember is Sam's Journey!

Mind Blown! As Starfox demo'd on the Sega Genesis/MD!

I always try to get you the latest updates from around world when it comes to games that have been released or are still being developed. Well this latest news story took us by surprise this afternoon, as looking through our Twitter feed, I've come across a mind blowing heads up that someone has shown a demo of Star Fox running on a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. If you don't believe me, check out the latest footage linked below of the game running without the need for a fancy Super Nintendo SuperFX chip!

Super Mario Bros. S - A collaborative fan game available as a download or browser play

I have always had a soft spot for Super Mario Bros, ever since I first played it as a kid all those years ago in America on the NES. Its one of those timeless games that you never can get tired of. Its super simple to learn and control for new players and the gameplay is also simple but at the same time it can be very challenging. Well if you remember playing the game ( Who doesn't ) you may be interested to know that as of today, Superpi2 has made available Super Mario Bros. S; a collaborative fangame, meant to embody the spirit of modern Super Mario platformers while utilizing the styles of older titles playable through your Browser or as a download.

Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of Death is coming to the NES and it looks FAB!

Alwa's Awakening - A highly anticipated NES port has finally been released via Steam, GOG and itch io

We've recently been informed through Twitter, that Elden Pixels Battle of Olympus and Solstice retro inspired PC platformer of ' Alwa's Awakening '; a game which was released on Steam back in 2017, has finally been released as a fully fledged NES port through GOG, Steam and GOG. For those of you who don't remember this fine game, you play as Zoe, a heroine sent from another world to bring peace to the land of Alwa. You must use your magical staff against lots of strange creatures and big bosses through many different themed rooms.

DOOM 64 - 1997 Nintendo 64 cult classic is coming to modern platforms!

Taking us completely by surprise as usually we follow SGtMarkIV's 'Brutal Doom 64' ; a mod which took the original N64 game, put it through a bloody enhanced blender and made it available for the PC. As we've just been told by a good friend of ours on Facebook, Bethesda has announced the 1997 Nintendo 64 cult classic DOOM 64, will be coming to modern platforms as from 03.20.2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. - DOOM 64 is available for free if you pre-order DOOM Eternal.
