Super Mario Bros looks incredible on the Sega Master System!

Possibly the coolest news for this week and one I really think is going to get those jaws dropping *AGAIN*, is the fact that thanks to a mighty heads up by our good friend @PixelCNinja, we have been told the Sega Master System version of Super Mario Bros by LackofTrack is available for ALL to enjoy! Yes indeed one of the most eagerly awaited games to come to the Sega Master System as announced some time ago as a proof of concept, is here as a near-perfect port of the NES/FC classic

Lilly’s Saga – The Stones of Evergreen - This upcoming love letter to 80's and 90's classics for the MSX2 looks fab!

Unless you were living in a cave, many of you will remember the classic game that is ' Super Mario Bros ', a game that was produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and released by that famous company Nintendo in the late 80's for the NES. It is an incredible platformer that has had many sequels and spin offs on different systems, ranging from the NES all the way up to my personal favorite the DS. Well if you too are a fan of Mario but are looking for something fresh on the MSX2, you'll be interested to know that at some point this year, Pål Frogner Hansen, Julie Trevland, and Wolf will be releasing their love letter to Super Mario Bros called Lilly’s Saga – The Stones of Evergreen.

Super Mario Bros. S - A collaborative fan game available as a download or browser play

I have always had a soft spot for Super Mario Bros, ever since I first played it as a kid all those years ago in America on the NES. Its one of those timeless games that you never can get tired of. Its super simple to learn and control for new players and the gameplay is also simple but at the same time it can be very challenging. Well if you remember playing the game ( Who doesn't ) you may be interested to know that as of today, Superpi2 has made available Super Mario Bros. S; a collaborative fangame, meant to embody the spirit of modern Super Mario platformers while utilizing the styles of older titles playable through your Browser or as a download.

Super Mario Bros on the ZX Spectrum as a demo? Crazy!

Pinball Dreams released on the CPC and Eye of the Beholder coming to the C64, could things get even crazier? Well it looks as if it just has! Welcome to the Super Mario Bros 128k Demo, a very early yet pretty amazing work in progress port of the classic NES game, which as of this moment according to the description below the video, features most of the first five of the eight worlds of the game written for the CaFe 2019 demoparty.

HOT NEWS! Super Mario Bros has been released on the C64!

Possibly the best news for this evening and one I really think is going to get those jaws dropping *AGAIN*, is the fact that thanks to a mighty heads up by Jammet, we have been told the C64 version of Super Mario Bros by ZeroPaige is now available for ALL to enjoy! Yes indeed one of the most eagerly awaited games to come to the C64 as announced some time ago possibly as far back as 2013, has been released and freely available.

HOT NEWS! Super Mario Bros is coming to the C64!

Possibly the best news for today and one I really think is going to get those jaws dropping, as thanks to a heads up by Jim Farley in our C64 Facebook group, is the fact that he has told us Super Mario Brothers may be released for the C64 during this week! Funnily enough when a user way back in 2013 asked if there was ever a port of the original to the C64 and a reply of no, just a sprite hack of Giania Sisters. It came to be that a developer by the name ZeroPaige set out to make his very own C64 port as close to the Nintendo hit as possible, and one you will hopefully see any day now!

A two player Super Mario Bros hack is finally here!

Amazing news in the romhacking community! 33 years ago Super Mario Bros was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System and just a couple of days ago the romhackers Corpse Grinder and Ti released a two players simultaneous mode for Super Mario Bros! Most of us have forgotten that the original Super Mario Bros actually has a 2-player option, the reason for this is that it is turn based. It is just like paying the game single player, so nobody really cared about this option. If the two player mode would let us play simultaneous, that would be the dream! And now it has come true! And it just works so well!

Super Mario Bros demo'd on the Amiga using Redpill

Possibly the last post for today and one I think may interest you, is the very early development of Super Mario Brothers for the Commodore Amiga. Announced through our email thanks to a heads up by Zbigniew 'Saberman' Zieliński, this work in progress demo was one of the more recent projects teased using the THE AMIGA GAME CREATOR 'RedPill', which as of this April had moved into an Alpha state.

Super Mario Ultimate - A full hack of Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES!

It seems as if people can't get enough of Mario, as throughout the previous year we had seen countless rom hacks released that either change the game into a different story, or completely overhaul the game with new graphics. Once such Mario game, as in Super Mario Bros 3, has got a new rom hack today and it's called 'Super Mario Ultimate' released by Silas; a very large hack of Super Mario Bros 3 from the NES!

Gimmick! Yumetaro Odyssey - In dev ZX Spectrum title inspired by other classic games

As many of you are aware by now the ZX-DEV Conversions compo is still ongoing and gives you the opportunity to create awesome games as a conversion from other games from other platforms, such as movies, cartoons, books and even comics to the ZX Spectrum. Once such game that is known as ' Gimmick! Yumetaro Odyssey' by greenwebsevilla, really caught my eye, as not only is it based on the 1992 Famicom/NES game Gimmick! published by Sunsoft, but each level is inspired by other classic games such as Sonic, Super Mario Bros, Castlevania and more!

Gandalf - An in dev ZX Spectrum platformer that looks rather nice indeed!

As many of  you know by now that the ZX-DEV Conversions compo had recently been launched and gave you the chance to create awesome games where the contestants had to submit conversions from other games from other platforms, from movies, cartoons, books and even comics! Once such game that is known as ' Gandalf 'by cmgonzalez, really appealed to us as it is not only inspired by Super Mario Bros, but is based on Gandalf, using the Nirvana+ engine and it looks to feature some rather gorgeous ZX graphics indeed.

Super Mario Bros. 3: The Forgotten Worlds - Unofficial direct sequel to Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels

It seems as if Mario has taken over Romhacking, as during the last month or so, we've seen countless rom hacks released that either change the game into a different story, or completely overhaul the game with new graphics. Once such Mario game, as in Super Mario Bros, has got a new rom hack today and it's called 'Super Mario Bros. 3: The Forgotten Worlds' by szemigi, an unofficial direct sequel to Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels.

Toads Autumn Adventure - Play as Toad and rescue Mario in this new NES hack!

It was only just recently we featured teeporage777's ROM hack of Super Mario Bros, in 'Mario's Moonlight Adventure Hack' and 'Luigi's Summer Adventure', but true to form as a heads up by the creator Edward Shane, we are now looking towards the next seasonal NES hack of ' Toads Autumn Adventure '. This time featuring one of my personal favourite characters as Toad, you must go out on a rescue mission to find the legendary hero Mario. It looks as if he has been captured, and after a complete failure to find him by Peach, you'll have to battle through Bowsers minions and hopefully save the day.

Luigi's Summer Adventure - NES Hack - Luigi embarks on a new quest to save the princess!

It was only just recently we told you about teeporage777's ROM hack of Super Mario Bros, in 'Mario's Moonlight Adventure Hack'. But it looks as if the same person has done another NES ROM hack and this time it stars Luigi in 'Luigi's Summer Adventure'. Unlike the previous twist of the original game, this one puts you in the shoes of Luigi, and it's down to you to save the princess as Mario has decided to take a summer vacation, and leave Luigi in charge of the entire Mushroom Kingdom!

Mario's Moonlight Adventure Hack - A late night rescue, Peach has been kidnapped!

If blasting away the undead isn't to your liking but you still want to check out the latest ROM hacks, then how about playing teeporage777's 'Mario's Moonlight Adventure', which is an extensive NES hack of Super Mario Bros that is played entirely through the night. Once again Peach has been kidnapped, but this time she's been taken in the middle of the night, and it's down to you as Mr Mario to traverse this now dark landscape and rescue her!

Multiple Super Mario Bros Rom hacks released that completely change a classic!

Another range of classics that have been given an overhaul or changed to make it look like an almost new game, is Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES. These games are part of the greatest platforming game series ever released that was originally released by that famous company Nintendo in the late 80's, with a number of more advanced versions coming much later on different systems. Now however it's time to play Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3 but in a totally different way, as a number of fans have made the game either far harder or have changed the game(s) with new story and levels.

Super Mario Bros Pico-8 - Surprisingly decent Demake of a classic on the Pico8!

Throughout the months there have been numerous demakes and retro inspired games released on the cool little handheld the Pico-8 such as Wolfenstein 3D, but this latest demake which is still a work in progress has nearly blown me away. As you can see by the screenshot above, today's game is none other than the hit classic NES game 'Super Mario Bros', which has been partly demade by Sascha217 to fit on the handheld device!

Super Mario Bros appears on the Amiga as a project called Other Super Mario

This year could almost be classed as the year of the Mario as it seems there has been no let up in that famous plumber either appearing on different systems as ports, fan games on the PC with Super Mario Bros. X 2.0, or hack jobs such as Communist Mario on the NES. And yet the year hasn't finished, as here we are again with another Super Mario Bros and this time Shigeru Miyamoto's game has been shown off on the Amiga as a project by Retro1234

Super Mario Bros. X 2.0 - Top quality fun for all retro gaming Mario fans

More fantastic news today as Horikawa Otane has released the very latest version of Super Mario Bros. X 2.0. This is a rather large and impressive Mario fan game with well over 50 levels blending elements from Super Mario 1, 2, 3 and World. It has many power ups, such as the Ice Flower, Hammer Suit, Tanooki Suit, Kuribo's shoe, The Billy Gun, and Yoshi and can be played with a friend in the two player co-op mode.
