Isometric Sokoban - If you've played the 1980's warehouse puzzler, then come and check out this isometric C64 version

Another day and another news story, as the classic 8-bit computer welcomes possibly its first-ever 3D warehouse puzzler with the release of Isometric Sokoban by kielack. A new game that has been programmed completely in assembler by Armin Kielack with Elena Kielack doing the music for the game. Isometric Sokoban features an extensive library of over 200 stages. To prevent frustration, every single map has been rigorously tested and verified as 100% solvable. The massive collection of puzzles was crafted by a collaborative group of designers and checkers listed below the video.

Players take control of a heavy-duty bulldozer using a standard joystick to maneuver through a series of grids. The main objective is to navigate the map and maneuver all scattered boxes onto designated blue or light blue fields.

The mechanics require careful planning due to strict movement physics:

  • Push Only: The bulldozer can only push boxes forward. It is impossible to pull them backward.
  • Single Box Limit: You can only move one box at a time. Pushing a row of multiple boxes is restricted.
  • Boundary Restrictions: Neither your vehicle nor the cargo can cross into the black void.
  • Surface Friction: Cargo behaves differently depending on the floor tile. On blue and green fields, boxes move exactly one square per push. On white or light blue fields, the boxes will continuously slide until they collide with a wall or another object.

If you make a mistake and trap a box, a quick press of the joystick fire button will instantly reset the current level. Additionally, players can toggle the background music on or off at any time by pressing the M key on the keyboard.
