Homebrew team Tedzogh, Dor, aZtOcKdOg, imjustpickle and keyj freely, has officially launched a playtest phase for its upcoming native Commodore Amiga adventure game, The Adventure of Node. Taking heavy inspiration from classic action-RPGs such as Zelda, the title introduces players to a fantasy world requiring sharp reflexes and critical thinking. While the game is still in active development and today's demo is an early tease, the game is likely to go through a lot of changes until its final release.
Players step into the shoes of Node, a protagonist sent on a high-stakes mission to uncover why a sudden influx of monsters is plaguing the local Crystal Mine. Success relies on both standard sword combat and solving environmental puzzles. The initial demo offers a substantial slice of gameplay such as being able to interact with local town residents, explore a dangerous dungeon, and finally you can even purge a nearby forest of an active, hidden threat.
Requirements :
- AGA Amiga with 4meg Fast RAM.
- Or an Amiga emulator with those settings.
- Joystick or gamepad, preferably 2 buttons.

FINALLY! A JRPG FOR AMIGA 68K BEFORE I AM DEAD! People, don't you understand??! THIS MACHINE IS EVEN BETTER THAN SNES for JRPG games and we flood it with sports, racing and shoot up games. THIS IS NOT RIGHT. We need more games like this, please, more and more and more and more and more.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, a Zelda Style game, when done well, is highly needed on the Amiga. But what really makes me commenting here is the music style. Bro, it's soo courageous to make it sound like this - go for it! Don't change that! I know people will come and wish for something different, because they are used to decades of silly FM or standard lib orchestral sounds in this genre. Resist! Do it your way. This trappy stuff kicks! Thank you!
