Another enjoyable game has just been sent to us, albeit in a beta state, is Bill Kendrick's in development Gem clearing Arcade/Puzzle game called ' Gem Drop Deluxe'; an updated version of his 1997 Atari 8-bit line of home computers game Gem Drop. As in his words "This new Deluxe version, under development in 2015, is a port to C for Atari 8-bits, via the cc65 6502 cross-compiler".
According to the description : Gem Drop Deluxe is a fast-paced puzzle game where it's your job to clear the screen of gems before they squash you. You must grab gems of the same color and use them to knock more gems off the screen. Match 3 or more of the same color in a column and they explode. So yes certainly a game that many will enjoy on their Atari XL/XE.
