Retro gamers have a another reason to fire up their Commodore 64s this week as developer drmortalwombat, known for recent homebrew hits like Overload and Portal Buster, has officially released Trenchangle, a sophisticated tower defense title designed specifically for PAL systems. In Trenchangle, players find their fortress besieged by waves of "evil geometry." The core gameplay loop blends classic strategic placement with modern progression mechanics. To coincide with this news, provided below is the latest footage from Saberman.
Here's the latest from the developer. "Tower defense with a tech-tree. Your fortress is under attack from evil geometry, but you can build towers to defend yourself. And blast them out of the plane with various weapons. Each enemy killed will give you gold to buy more towers or upgrade your existing towers. After each level you can upgrade your skills with a tech tree, where you invest some meta currency that you gain from killing enemies or completing levels. The game can be played with joystick in port 2 or keyboard control. It has been developed for PAL systems."
