Mega Cat Studios who is behind games such as Roniu’s Tale, Super Painter, Rocket Pander and Romeow & Julicat, has made available a demo through itch io called ZPF, an adrenaline-fueled horizontal shoot-’em-up designed for the iconic 16-bit Sega Mega Drive / Genesis console. ZPF transports players into a high-octane arcade experience that uniquely welds science fiction, dark fantasy, and body horror. Drawing heavy inspiration from legendary Sega Genesis shooters of the 1990s, the title captures the raw speed and relentless energy that defined the golden age of coin-op arcades and console classics.
The game features three distinct playable characters, each offering a unique playstyle and weapon loadout. Players must navigate treacherous, fast-moving environments overflowing with aggressive enemy waves, concealed secrets, and towering, multi-phase bosses that guard the end of every stage. Beyond its pulse-pounding action, ZPF caters directly to hardcore genre enthusiasts. The game integrates a sophisticated arcade scoring system, challenging veterans to optimize their routes, maintain multipliers, and hunt for hidden bonuses to dominate the leaderboards.
