Basilisk of Roko - A new action platformer for the speccy with a great soundtrack!

We haven't featured a decent ZX Spectrum game for awhile, so to change all that here's Basilisk of Roko by RetroSotano. What started out as a simple plan to remaster a game from 2024 completely transformed during production into an entirely different beast. The final version is a clever action-platformer hybrid built for the ZX Spectrum 128K. Spanning 24 intricate screens with a soundtrack that slaps, the game demands sharp logic and a strong memory rather than just quick reflexes. Your main objective throughout these rooms is figuring out how to unlock doors and navigate the terrain to pick up essential items, culminating in a hunt for 9 critical keys required to unlock the final room and take down the boss.

The story follows a brilliant 22-year-old named Nachete, whose intellect lands him a job at Neurolonk, a cutting-edge global leader in Artificial Intelligence. His life takes a wild turn during an otherwise completely ordinary workday. Sent into one of the computer rooms to fetch a piece of engineering equipment, Nachete grabs the gear, turns around, and instantly trips over a mess of messy cables on the floor. He crashes hard into the machinery, accidentally slapping a chaotic mix of buttons in the process. Suddenly, a blinding flash of light erupts from the console, engulfing him completely and instantly teleporting him away to a bizarre, unknown world.
