Warlock - A top down action slasher by Haplo is previewed for the C64

A fresh preview titled Warlock has just been released for the Commodore 64, courtesy of the talented developer Haplo, who previously created great games like Shift and Tenebra. This upcoming project reimagines the intense, atmospheric energy of classic first-person fantasy shooters like Heretic, but flips the perspective into a top-down view. Shunning modern procedural trends which are common with games like this, the developer confirms this is not a rogue-like experience. Instead, players will navigate meticulously handcrafted maps without the looming threat of permadeath, offering a structured, intentional approach to exploration and combat.

Unison - A new monochrome puzzler from Haplo for the C64

The Commodore 64 homebrew scene continues to thrive with the recent release of Unison, a striking new monochrome puzzle game from developer Haplo. Described as "Quantum entanglement at its best!", the game challenges players to take control of two "entangled" characters simultaneously. As you navigate a series of increasingly intricate levels, these two little guys move in perfect unison. Success depends on your ability to guide both to their respective finish flags without accidentally stepping onto tiles of the opposite colour.

Shift - An 8bit monochrome game now for your MSX via Haplo Games

We've recently found out that Haplo, who is behind games such as Hell Beneath, Tenebra and the Amiga port of Ooze: The Escape, has released the mind bending puzzler of 'Shift' for the MSX. A game that was released during 2024 for the Atari 8bit, Amiga and Commodore 64! To coincide with this news, we've got some more information about the game, as well as a screenshot and a video from Saberman.

P.T. - Haplo's Horror game released for the Commodore 64

Even more Halloween games to get through as looking through the itch io website, we've found out that the developer of Haplo. Who was behind games such as Tenebra, Ooze: The Escape, and Nixy and the Seeds of Doom has released the Commodore 64 horror game called 'P.T'. A game that the developer describes as, an interactive teaser for the video 2014 game Silent Hills. To coincide with this news, if you like horror games make sure to check out the video below.

Shift - An 8bit monochrome game appears on the Commodore Amiga via Haplo!

There's another Commodore Amiga game news story that's well worth a mention, as we've recently been trawling the itch io website, and have found out that Haplo, who is behind games such as Hell Beneath, Tenebra and the Amiga port of Ooze: The Escape, has released the mind bending puzzler of 'Shift' for the Commodore Amiga. A game that was released earlier this year for the Atari 8bit and Commodore 64! We've recently been contacted by Saberman in our inbox, that the atmospheric game of Tenebra 2 by Haplo, which was originally released for the Amiga, Commodore 64, MSX, Plus/4 and ZX Spectrum has now arrived on the Amstrad CPC. As in the words of the creator "This is a direct sequel to my popular game Tenebra, with many exciting new game play elements, including a portal gun!". Hell Beneath - Welcome to another Commodore 64 game from Haplo!

There's another Commodore 64 game that has made an appearance and well worth a mention, and it's the recent release of Haplo's latest creation of 'Hell Beneath': a top-down action title in which the creator describes as a "coffee-break" game and not meant to be taken too seriously! To coincide with this news, although Saberman has done a video of the game in action, there's many other great games we'd also recommend checking out by Haplo such as Caim, Tenebra and our personal favourite Ooze.

For those of you who haven't heard of this game before, Tenebra is an atmospheric puzzle game with rogue-like elements that ended up getting a sequel for the C64 called Tenebra 2. To coincide with this news, not only can you download the game right now, but at some point today Saberman will also do a gameplay video too.

Has now got an official sequel of  'Tenebra 2' for the C64 and Plus/4! To coincide with this news, not only can you download the game right now, but at some point today Saberman will also do a gameplay video too.

Although I don't usually do writing this early in the morning, especially on a Saturday, as we've recently been trawling the itch io website, and have found out that the atmospheric game of Tenebra by Haplo, which was released in 2021. Is going to get a sequel called 'Tenebra 2' for the C64 and Plus/4! To coincide with this news, not only is there a viewable gif below, but if you want to try the game out the developer has also released a preview download for you to play.

Tenebra Extended - An atmospheric puzzle game for the C64 by Haplo gets an extended edition

An early morning news story for today and one I think many people will be loading up throughout this week, as we've recently been trawling the C64 scene database, and have found out that the atmospheric game of Tenebra by Haplo, has been re-released as an extended edition for the Commodore 64. To coincide with this news not only has Saberman done a video of the standard Demo which was made available the other day, but the game is available for purchase through itch.io.

Sever The Wicked! - A fast-paced "coffee-break" action game for the Commodore 64

The C64 is certainly in high spirits this year, with fabulous games mentioned such as Amaurote, Tutankham Returns, Lykia - The Lost Island to name but some of the games highlighted on Indie Retro News. But one such game we haven't yet mentioned until now and looks to be non stop fun, is Haplo's latest C64 game of Sever The Wicked!; A fast-paced "coffee-break" action game that was released just recently with a new video by Saberman!

Possibly the last news story for Thursday and one I think many people will be loading up by the end of the day, as we've recently been trawling the CSdb website, and have found out that the atmospheric game of Tenebra by Haplo, has been released for the Commodore 64. To coincide with this news not only has Saberman done a video of the Demo which was made available the other day, but the game is available for purchase through itch.io.
