Neon Revenant - An in dev native MSX pseudo-3D rail shooter

Something slightly different for this weekend with the experimental tease of NEON REVENANT, an ambitious, native pseudo-3D rail shooter developed by Kanon-AI for the MSX system. Built on the developer's experience creating four previous MSX projects with ASTRA, the game serves as an experimental masterclass in maximizing MSX boundaries. Kanon-AI pushed out four distinct 512 KiB ROM editions tailored to different MSX chipsets, ranging from advanced V9990 and Turbo R setups down to standard MSX2 and humble MSX1 systems. While the more advanced versions feature a three-zone campaign, the MSX1 edition boasts an expanded five-zone campaign culminating in a massive, multi-stage PCG battleship boss fight featuring articulating hulls, recoiling cannon barrels, and a vulnerable pulsing core hidden behind destructible armour.
