Amiga owners and retrogamers alike, have we got the event for you! As PlayNation Games will be celebrating the Amiga in their own special way, by hosting the Amiga Retro Event, held at Playnation Games on the 29th September from 6pm till 11pm. Organised by the Sega, Atari, Commodore, Nintendo RetroGaming Cafe Facebook Group, this event could be just what the retro doctor ordered as not only can you play on original Amiga hardware, but you can discuss, buy, sell and even trade games!
Yes indeed, one of the best stores for Amiga games, is doing a big event for you to come on down and have a damn good time, with tickets priced at £5 per person at the door. What's more there isn't just Amiga games here, but other gaming goodies such as C64, NES, Sega, ZX Spectrum and lots of other cool stuff too!
Oh and to top it off, Indie Retro News is an official sponsor too and thus we asked the organising team about the event and generally what makes them tick, and this was the response :
We are wanting to hold the event every 6 months. As you might know Chris and I (Dean) have loved the Amiga since back in the day, and as part of our love and passion we wanted to try and get Amiga events going for the people who share the same love and passions as we do. We have been friends for over 25 years and have loved the Amiga since back in the day and have a true love and interest in the Amiga, it isn't about money or profit as we are gaining nothing from this :).
We are bringing some Amiga's for people to play, see how the gotek and Amiga's work, give out some knowledge and people can go home with one at the end of the night. - 4 A500 variants with a gotek will be available for sale (A500+). Oh and there's a whole shop for people to browse and buy which also has many boxed/ unboxed Amiga games. -Buy sell trade, and meet people with the same love and interest in the commodore Amiga.
As part of our Facebook group we visit retro gaming shops, and really want to achieve a group that truly is a great place for people to come and feel that this is the place to be for retro gaming! (hopefully be as great as the Commodore Amiga Facebook group 😉 ).
Oh and before I forget, the fine people from indie retro news will also be there 😉 and big thanks to playnation games for letting us hold the event, and Luis Filip from the big commodore amiga a500 flip channel for the amazing poster. This is definitely an Amiga event but with the shop being a retro gaming shop with an upstairs space it will be so much more.
