1942 for the Atari 2600, developed using Batari Basic looks incredible!

In 1984 a great shoot 'em up was released for the Arcade by Capcom and that game was 1942. A game in which you had to shoot down enemy planes, avoid being shot out of the sky and performed awesome rolls while collecting power ups. Well if you remember this fine game ( I know I do! ), you may be interested to know that Al Nafuur has not only released a work in progress demake of the game for the Atari 2600 developed in Batari Basic, but it looks mighty impressive indeed!

If you're looking for a game to play right now on your Atari 2600 it might be worth setting aside an evening playing 1942 by Al Nafuur. A 1 Player Fun Arcade Shoot 'em' up in which you must fly your plane over vast landscapes, shooting other Planes and big bosses, while also collecting power ups along the way. Sure it's still at a work in progress state, but damn does 1942 for the Atari 2600 with all its hardware limitations look good!

  1. I enjoyed 1942 in arcades back in the day. Still play it when I come across it now. Would be cool to have an Atari version that could work on my Retron77.
