Quarx - A new Match 'em up teased for the Commodore 64 by David Murray and team

A new game has surfaced for the Commodore 64, as we have just found out thanks to a heads up by a good friend of ours, that the8bitguy, who is behind games such as Planet X16 and Petscii Robots, is currently working on a game with Piotr Radecki and Moelle Aman called 'Quarx'. A high quality Match 'em up, whereby you need to move pieces falling from the top to form complete horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines for a high score. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided some footage of this game that's currently still being worked on.

Here's the latest from the CSdb site "Quarx is a puzzle game where you must move pieces falling from the top to form complete horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines without gaps; each completed line disappears, causing the blocks above it to fall, and the goal is to prevent the stack from reaching the top of the screen—which ends the game—while accumulating as many points as possible from cleared lines to advance through the levels."

  1. This looks promising, definitely some effort being put in. Like the animated background.
