If you have a MSX then read on! As I've just found out through Twitter that the previously announced 'Space Bash: Contact!!', a spiritual successor to Jaleco’s legendary RodLand, has come out of development and been released for all to enjoy. Developed for the prestigious MSXdev’25 competition, this title swaps the fairy land of the original for a bizarre alien world, promising an experience that is faster, more challenging, and—as the developers put it—significantly "crazier."
Here's the full details. "If you love classic arcade platformers… fasten your seatbelt! Space Bash: Contact!! is a spiritual sequel to Jaleco’s classic RodLand, set in space — and even crazier. More action. More strategy. More ways to attack and defend. Levels designed to reward clever tactics, not just fast reflexes. Developed for the MSXdev’25 competition, the game runs on any MSX computer with at least 16 KB of RAM, bringing a colorful arcade-style experience to classic 8-bit hardware. Watch the trailer for a first look at the gameplay, enemies, and the bizarre alien world waiting for you."

ReplyDeleteSoon....WOW YEAH!
ReplyDeleteReleased :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, as always, for talking about our games :) this one is a dream came true for Davide (who had the desire to see his creature finally see the light for years) and the whole MSX community (that never had his Rodland version). So, given that we were already collaborating at my Turrican project for MSX, we decided to release this one too. And we were lucky as well to have John joining us in this adventure!
ReplyDeleteThe SCC music is wonderful.
