Wee Ninja - A great Mario style platformer for the Atari XL/XE and 5200 by Playsoft

Playsoft have released a number of games over the years, from Blowsub on the Atari 5200, to the Atari 8bit hack of Donkey Kong by Darryl1970. Well it's time for the Atari 5200 to get a new game announcement, as Playsoft has released the eagerly awaited high quality Mario styled platformer of 'Wee Ninja'. A game in which your character can headbutt blocks, collect power ups and even throw ninja death squares at enemies. To coincide with this news, provided below is the latest footage by Saberman.

Here's the latest. "I've been working on a Mario style platformer for the 5200 with a final version released today. It is not intended to be an exact Mario clone but it does owe everything to Mario. There are power-ups, found by headbutting bricks; red ninja is invincible for a time, black ninja can throw ninja death squares at enemies and blue ninja can poke them with a stick. If you are hit in ninja mode, you revert back to normal rather than lose a life. Also in ninja mode, headbutting bricks destroys them. Some pipes can be entered to reveal secret locations. Some enemies can be squashed by jumping on them; shell enemies leave an empty shell that you can launch by touching them. If you reveal a heart, collect it for an extra life".
