Armor Alley - A 1980's real-time war game 'Rescue Raiders' has arrived on the Amstrad CPC by Fitosoft

Developer Fitosoft (AdolFito) has now released a new 8-bit port of the real-time war game Armor Alley, a title that first gained acclaim on the Mac and PC in 1991 and traces its lineage back to the 1984 Apple II classic Rescue Raiders.  The developer, inspired by the cleverness of the original Windows and Mac versions, set out with a clear goal: to bring the core experience of this real-time strategy like game to the CPC platform. While acknowledging the technical hurdles of the hardware, Fitosoft has successfully captured the unique essence of the original gameplay within the machine's Mode 0 capabilities.

Players are warned that this is not a game where you simply "shoot at everything indiscriminately to get points". The challenge lies in the intensity of your decisions: balancing fuel, managing limited funds to requisition units, and providing air cover for your vulnerable ground convoy. The game is currently available as a free download, though the developer accepts donations for an "extended version" featuring updated graphics.

  • In this 2D side-scrolling game, you control a helicopter in an expansive side-view scenario. Your base is located on the left side and the enemy base on the right. Your mission is to decide which military units leave your base towards the rival's; if one of your jeeps manages to reach it, you will win the game.
