Bloodstone - This new ZX Spectrum 128k game published by ZXOnline looks gorgeous!

The ZX Spectrum homebrew scene is buzzing as publisher ZXOnline has now launched their visually stunning new title, Bloodstone. Designed exclusively for the 128k Spectrum, this platformer is already drawing praise for its high-quality visuals and atmospheric storytelling. Early gameplay trailers suggested that Bloodstone will push the 128k ZX Spectrum to its limits, offering a level of polish that stands out even in the vibrant modern Speccy development community. To coincide with this news, provided below is a couple of screenshots from the game, as well as some gameplay footage.

The story is deeply rooted in the legacy of Kamran’s father, Istvan—Grand Master of the Light-Bearers and the Order of the Rift Guardians. Players will experience the weight of Kamran’s memories, specifically the final, fatal battle where Istvan sacrificed himself to save his son from being consumed by the Darkness. In a desperate final act, Istvan cast a unique spell that allows Kamran to remain a champion of the Light, but at a terrible cost: he must fight without his soul. Though his heart no longer beats and his soul is lost within the depths of the magical weave, Kamran’s unbreakable will drives him forward into the mouth of the abyss and the menacing Bloodstone Castle.
