Ace of Matchball - A rather decent AI Amiga AGA Tennis game by Fliegeralarm Games

Here's another AI marmite game ( love or hate it ) Ace of Matchball AGA, a brand-new tennis simulator from Fliegeralarm Games. A new sports title tailored specifically for stock Amiga 1200 setups equipped with a hard drive and 2 MB of Fast RAM. Players step behind the baseline to experience rapid-fire rallies, serves, and desperate lobs across four distinct venues, including Riviera clay and indoor Arenas. Furthermore the game packs a deep career mode, an integrated world tour tracking system that saves rankings between sessions, and an exhaustive adherence to real-world tennis rules—complete with player stamina mechanics that visibly degrade shot accuracy during punishing, long-winded rallies.

The digital stadium feels genuinely alive, populated by reactive crowds, busy ball kids, and animated hotheaded players who aren’t afraid to throw tantrums, hurl rackets, or curse in their own voices when things go south. In a brilliant modern twist, Fliegeralarm Games has even introduced a "Challenge the Call" review system, letting players contest questionable line-judge decisions with slowed-down, zoomed-in replays. Early community feedback has been positive too even for an AI game, with players praising the intuitive, momentum-based control scheme and calling it the "Amiga Top Spin 2K27." Interestingly, the game's origin traces back to a casual exchange where the developer asked one of the best Amiga Twitch streamers Amiga Bill if he should create a tennis title for a friend; Bill’s nod clearly sparked the developers interest in finalizing this sports game for the community.

  2. the way the rackets hit the ball is weird. It's typical of AI

  3. Looks nice and all, good graphics and sound. But i think these AI made games always lacks something undefinable. Cant put my finger on exactly what, but maybe its feels a bit generic and unpolished. I wonder if AI will end up taking away the joy of creating and playing indie games?

  4. I think his games could have been so much better if he polished them some more, get rid of the bugs and actually tested them before release. I bought this one and the golf game too, but to be honest I will not do that anymore. This is in my opinion not a good showcase for AI assisted game development.
    Sorry.
