After all this time and one I can't wait to play seeing as we were the first ones to shout about it, is Pixwerk and 11 bit studios 16-bit shooter 'Tower 57' will be releasing soon on GOG/Steam! Yes indeed this retro inspired shooter that has caused people to lick their lips in anticipation of playing an arcade love child of Alien Breed and Chaos Engine with fantastic 16-bit styled pixel art will be playable soon on both PC and MAC!

This weekend has been absolutely perfect for retro gamers, such as the recent release of Nostalgia's Ghosts'n Goblins Arcade, but now it's time to once again feature the more modern game but with a retro inspired twist, Benitosub and Cyangmou's 16-bit shooter 'Tower 57'. As we said before 'Tower 57' is set in a dystopian future; an arcade love child of Alien Breed and Chaos Engine with fantastic 16-bit styled pixel art and interactive and destructive environments. It is one of our most eagerly awaited games and going by our site stats it's yours too. So without further-ado it's time to showcase the latest animated gifs, such as weather effects, train animation, parallax and more, before the big trailer and demo which is due very soon! We have featured Benitosub's and artist Cyangmou 16-bit shooter 'Tower57' many times now but today we are going to go one step further and overload this article with as many awesome new gifs and inclusive characters as we could possibly add. Set in a dystopian future, 'Tower57 is the arcade love child of Alien Breed and Chaos Engine with fantastic 16-bit styled pixel art and interactive and destructive environments. It has been on one of our most featured games as it takes the brilliance of those retro titles and gives it a splash of modern excellence. ( Not for slow internet users )

Golden Hour - A hi-res pixel art metroidvania gets a Kickstarter


Monoplex Studios and ClickteamLLC have just contacted us to let us know about "Golden Hour"; their new action arcade platform game with RPG elements that's currently going through a Kickstarter campaign. What's more, this is a hi-res pixel art title that has a hint of metroidvania with added destruction in a 16-bit inspired style.

Elysian Shadows - Classically inspired RPG gets a kickstarter campaign!


Currently going through a Kickstarter campaign, Elysian Shadows is an RPG game being developed by Elysian Shadows Team for both Steam, OUYA and even the incredible Dreamcast. According to the developers ES is a fuse of aspects from 16-bit classic RPG's such as Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy.

Super Mega Bob - Daniel Halls colorful blue blob 2D shooter goes from Desura to Kickstarter (+Beta Demo)


Behold the Super Mega Bob which is a reflection of Daniel Halls childhood, an awesome childhood fueled by games like Mega Man, The Legend of Zelda, Adventures of Lolo, and Kirby! Super Mega Bob is a 16-bit style 2D shooter with tons of charm, from the pixelated graphics with day/night and weather patterns, to the top notch retro style sound effects. So fly your mega bob past obstacles and traps, while solving many of the fiendish puzzles set before you. Thankfully you have the ability to gather upgrades and fly about like a floaty soft thing, while going pew pew pew!  There is a free beta demo available for you to try and the developer hopes the Kickstarter is a success, for more levels, more epic blobness and bad ass baddies!

Developed by gamesbymo, you play as Number 25 in the exploration of planet "Gomi" in the search for his missing girlfriend A.N.N.E. You'll be able to travel on foot through the many platforming levels, exploring new areas and ofcause killing bad guys. But that's not all, with a ship at your disposal, it turns into a Shoot Em Up, with the ability to carry Large Objects and further explore the world of Gomi that by foot could not be reached.
