Oubliette - A new Amiga top down dungeon crawler with a famous sprite!
Just as I was about to sit down and watch a damn fine movie, along comes another Amiga game that I just had to mention! This is ' Oubliette ' by James Wilkinson; a brand new Amiga game that has been in development for the last few weeks and has only since been uploaded to Aminet. According to the developer this game is an 8-bit randomised dungeon crawler with lots of sword slashing, fireballs and dragons, but more especially the main character is straight out of Zelda as Link!
The Game - Platformer of fun appears on the Amiga
It seems as if with all the C64 and ZX Spectrum games that have appeared over the recent months by homebrew developers, we'd never see anything worth while on the highly regarded Amiga platform. But after the recent release of Puzcat, Jay Miner was set to dust off and release an AMOS Pro game that he has worked on a couple of years ago, but felt now was the best time. Titled 'The Game' and heavily inspired by You Have to Win the Game, this is a pretty decent arcade platformer that is currently at version 0.9 and may or may not see any further development.
