DreadStar - A rather cool PC Windows shoot em up gets a Steam release

Growing up there was nothing more satisfying than playing top down scrolling shoot em ups such as the fantastic classic Tyrian 2000, or the many list of Arcade titles running through home emulation or a well designed cabinet. Well thanks to another heads up from the developer, we've been told that the game that we mentioned before as rather cool PC shoot em up called 'DreadStar' by Augmented Irreality, has finally been released on Steam!

Well thanks to another heads up from the developer, we've been told the game that we mentioned before as 'DreadStar' by AugmentedIrreality, will be released as of this October via Steam... A demo will also be available to try out during the Steam Autumn Games Festival.

Shoot em ups have never gone out of fashion, there's something to be said about blasting waves of enemies on screen, while collecting wicked power ups and listening to that thumping soundtrack. Thankfully one such developer likes to keep the shoot em up goodness flowing, as thanks to a heads up in our Facebook Shoot Em Ups : RetroGaming group. We've been told by the developer Augmented Irreality, that they are working on a very cool looking vertical shoot em up called Dreadstar: The Quest for Revenge.

I'm also a bit of a sucker for bullet hell shooters that just don't stop with the constant flood of bullets across your gaming screen. But this game ' DreadStar 'by AugmentedIrreality takes the best out of this genre, adds a few unique gaming touches and includes a high grade chiptune soundtrack. This game is also in development as early access but does give you a taste of what to come as a free PC download.
