Gunfright - Another Ultimate Play the Game Atari 8bit port (WIP)

If you were an Ultimate Play the Game fan in the 80's, then this year has gone over the retro scale in awesomeness. First we had the Ultimate Play The Game : Pentagram port for the Atari 8bit, then we had Pentagram ported to the C64, a Knightlore early version on the Amiga and then there was Alien 8, which again was for the C64. But now here we are again with another port, as this time Gunfright from 1985, which appeared on the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and MSX is coming over to the Atari 8bit by mariuszw!

Currently available as an early version so expect a lot of bugs, Gunfright is being ported from the ZX Spectrum using the developer's Z80-6502 recompiler, but does suffer from a number of graphical glitches such as no displaying of bullets in cartridge, incorrect display of lives and glitches on screen due the Spectrum attribute which needs to be redone for the Atari. Furthermore the speed is slightly worse than a real Spectrum, but on a positive note does feature original music and sound affects (just no footsteps yet).

Now that is out the way, in terms of the isometric gameplay which uses the Filmation 2 game engine, you play as the Sheriff in the town of Black Rock and must take out all the bad guys that have appeared in your town. Once one of the main wanted evil do'ers have been shot, you must fight them in a duel and the reward is yours. Just be careful not to do what I did, and kill everything in sight, as most are just your average citizen walking about trying to enjoy peace!
