Gunfright - Another Ultimate Play the Game Atari 8bit port (WIP)


If you were an Ultimate Play the Game fan in the 80's, then this year has gone over the retro scale in awesomeness. First we had the Ultimate Play The Game : Pentagram port for the Atari 8bit, then we had Pentagram ported to the C64, a Knightlore early version on the Amiga and then there was Alien 8, which again was for the C64. But now here we are again with another port, as this time Gunfright from 1985, which appeared on the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and MSX is coming over to the Atari 8bit by mariuszw!

Ultimate Play The Game : Pentagram - Final port release for the Atari 8bit!


This is just madness, in just one week we've had the classic Manic Miner released for the Atari XL/XE, Ocean Software's 1987 isometric hit game 'Head Over Heels', which was remade for the MSX2, and now Ultimate Play The Game's 1986 of ' Pentagram ', has finally been released as a port for the Atari 8bit by Mariuszw. If you don't remember the game Pentagram, It is the fourth in the Sabreman series, following on from his adventures in Sabre Wulf, Underwurlde and Knight Lore and was played in an isometric viewpoint.

Bobby Bearing - Ball bouncy retro game gets a finished Atari 8bit port!


In 1986 The Edge released an isometric 3D game by the name of 'Bobby Bearing' for the C64, ZX Spectrum, and Amstrad CPC that had a very similar vibe to Marble Madness.Well that same game, in which your goal was to find your missing brothers across the vast 3D environment, and then bounce them along to the exit has now been fully ported over to the Atari 8bit by mariuszw and José Pereira.

Saboteur - Classic C64 action adventure gets an Atari 8bit port.


More top quality news today and this one found by our good friend retrotaku is the work in progress Atari 8bit port of ' Saboteur ' from the C64 by mariuszw. Yes indeed, the action-adventure game created by Clive Townsend and published by Durell Software in 1985 for several 8-bit systems, the same publishers behind Thanatos, is getting the Atari 8bit treatment and as of today, even at such an early stage is downloadable and playable!

Total Eclipse - 1980's Adventure previewed for the Atari 8bit


Our good friend Alex has just informed us of the work in progress preview of the C64 - Atari 8bit port: Total Eclipse. Originally released in 1988, Total Eclipse is a first person adventure game with the ability to shoot released for the Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, PC and ZX Spectrum, however it was never ported to the Atari 8bit, until now.

The Great Escape - Ocean classic coming to the Atari 8-bit!


We've just been informed by Alex from Retro For Sale that the 8-bit classic 'The Great Escape' by Ocean Software, is being ported over by mariuszw of the Atariage forums to the Atari 8-bit system. Originally developed for the ZX Spectrum, C64, Amstrad CPC and DOS in the 1980's, this work in progress release is being ported over from the C64 and at some point will have sound effects, music and an improved loading picture.
