Barbarian+ - An enhanced version of a classic game is coming to the Amiga

Earlier this month we were hinting on Indie Retro News that the classic game of Barbarian(Death Sword) which was first released in 1989 for a multitude of retro systems was coming to the Amiga as an enhanced version with an overhaul to the colours and possibly more. Well you'll be pleased to know it is actually happening and the team behind the game have shown off some more screenshots.

As we said before Barbarian was a great game that featured a one to two player mode as a Barbarian faced each other off in deadly combat with sometimes the end result of a head being chopped off and kicked to one side. This upcoming overhaul however has a team behind it such as Ten Shu, Colin Vella and Simone Bernacchia doing the music and is being developed for the Amiga 500 (32color+copperlist) coded in amos pro and is currently running at 30fps! (Screenshots above are slight mockups the only downgrade on the real amiga500 are the precision of the copperlist (4096 color).

Sadly that's all we have on the game so far, but if it all goes well we can expect a release at some point this year.
