We've certainly featured a lot of C64 games over the years, from action platformers to shoot em ups and even puzzle games. But Dice Skater by Geir Straume and Sean Connolly for the C64 is something of a special breed. Yes indeed this one isn't your typical C64 game, as in this game you need to skate across a large dice, flipping blacks to green and avoiding the reds for a hopeful cleared dice and timed highscore!
Dice Skater has been entered into the RGCD C64 16KB Cartridge Game Dev Compo 2019, and I can see this being one of the highlights of the competition. Sure it's not amazing in the graphical sense, but the game is very addictive as you slide across from each face of the dice, turning all the black circles into green and aiming for that high score. Just watch out for the red dots however as one wrong slide and it gives you a harsh penality! Can you complete all 24 rounds and bonus rounds? Good luck!
