WinUAE 2.6.0 Beta 15 - A rather excellent Amiga emulator

Toni Wilen has really been hard at work, as he has released yet another beta version of this great Amiga emulator WinUAE! As such we are now on Beta 15, with even more much needed fixes. This is truly one of the best Amiga emulators you can use for playing games, and for using an emulated Amiga OS. Lets see what's been fixed!

Beta 15:
- IDE emulation drive status bit fix (DRQ and BSY active at the same time), fixes data corruption if IDEFix was active. (b5).
- Added support for previously unemulated and undocumented feature, sprites can appear 1 lores pixel earlier than first bitplane pixel. (First BPL1DAT access enables sprites immediately, only bitplanes need HRM documented delay). This is not normally visible because horizontal DIWSTRT usually equals bitplane left edge. Fixes "original" Rink-a-Dink/Lemon missing left white border in rotozoomer part.
- Do not use "8372 (Fat-hr) (agnushr),rev 5" VPOSR chipset id when config is ECS 2M chip RAM. This ID does not appear to exist in real world.
- Both bordersprite and borderblank active: sprites were incorrectly visible in upper and lower borders (241b13)
- Rewritten b4 "Subtle Shades" update, it was wrong and caused bad side-effects.

Another great alternative if you have the games and system files is FS-UAE which is a pretty damn awesome frontend that uses WinUAE at it's core. They also have a game database which you need to register for, as it's currently in Beta, which shares everyone else s working configuration files for easy Amiga game loading.

Also available are easy to install OS packages which again you may need certain legal files, but there is nothing more satisfying than having an Amiga OS running through an emulator. Further more, you can make separate installs of WinUAE by making a WinUAE.ini file in the same directory as WinUAE.exe. However make sure when you update, that you delete everything in the WinUAE.ini file(back up previous).

- We will not provide Amiga retail games or Operating System files -
