What if I told you there was a game on Steam Greenlight that's inspired by both Homeworld and Nexus: The Jupiter Incident? Interested, well you should be as this could be the next best thing in 3D RTS game play that takes some of the best properties of those classic games. Shallow Space , developed by mawhrin-skel gives you the command of the Terran Confederate Fleet as you fight through the multiple sectors of space while dealing with both random encounters and storyline missions.
According to the developer, players will need to mine for resources, advance capital ships and engage in battle to improve your officers skills. You can even design your own weapon configurations and ship modules, and believe me there are plenty of ships to play with!
Mine resources to advance your capital ships, engage your capital ships in combat to improve your officer’s skills and produce smaller ships to compliment your fleet. Your fleet will comprise of Capital ships, Cruisers, Frigates and Wings. Wings form a grouping of the smallest ships such as Fighter and Bombers. Each class of ship has several variants which will be customisable in terms of weapon configurations and ship modules. The player will also be assigned special capital ships such as the Leviathan and Capital Carrier, these special ships house resource collectors, autonomous ship production facilities and special heavy weapons.
