Moon Patrol - 1982 Arcade classic gets an Atari Jaguar port!

In 1982-1987, Irem with licensing by Williams released the fantastically enjoyable game of' ' Moon Patrol ' for the Arcade gaming community. A side-scrolling shooter that is widely credited for the introduction of parallax scrolling in side-scrolling video games, as you drove a buggy across a landscape, jumping over ditches and rocks while also shooting at enemies both above and in front was such a great game to play. It was so popular in fact that many remember it on a multitude of home systems such as the Atari 800, 2600, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Dreamcast and Intellivision. Well that same game has been given a new work in progress port by CyranoJ for the Atari Jaguar!

Available as a Binary download on the Atari forums, you can play the game on real Hardware now but the creator has mentioned it may run slower than the emulator Virtual Jaguar.  As stated : " That thing that runs slower than VJ. All I had to do was merely hook system calls from one platform to another. It's so simple you'd think loads of people would be doing it. Oh well ". Also as a hint, his next game he might be working on, is the brilliant Shoot 'em up " Xevious ".
