Petscii Invaders - A Petscii clone of the classic 'Space Invaders' game for the C64

I'm sure many of you remember Space Invaders, a game that was first released way back in 1978 in the Arcades in Japan with a further release made available in the United States and a much later version in the 1980's on the Atari 2600.  Well if you do remember it and all the money lost down at the Arcades, you'll be interested to know that as of today you can download Guido Cauli's Petscii based game called 'Petscii Invaders' for the Commodore 64!

In this new version of Space Invaders for the C64 published by Apulia Retrocomputing, while the gameplay is almost identical to the original Arcade hit, in that you need to not only survive by  destroy the enemy waves as they move from side to side and slowly drop towards you. What makes this version different other than it being developed using Petscii based graphics, is the fact instead of using buildings to defend yourself from the alien firepower, in this you have a limited amount of shield use... Once that goes down to 0% and you get hit losing your lives, it's game over!
