Dig Dug Doug - Gabriele Amore's latest ZX Spectrum game is a Dig Dug inspiration

Remember those days when seaside resorts had many arcade games to play, from top down shoot 'em ups to nifty little platformers. If you do, then you'll be pleased to know that as of today, you can download the latest Dig Dug inspiration called 'Dig Dug Doug' by Gabriele Amore. A new WIP game in which you not only have to collect boxes, but you must also dig your way through the landscape while popping enemies. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a new video showing a couple of levels from the game.

Here is what Planet Sinclair says about this latest title "As for the game, it's a arcade pure and we assume the role of Robo-Doug 9000, who has to recover at least one of the precious boxes lost in the nine mines, corresponding to each of the levels of the game. We must push the boxes into the bottom opening of the green tube, but be careful, because if we lose all the boxes, we lose our lives. To load the boxes, we have to reach it, preferably without blowing it up. We also have the ability to dig tunnels as well as eliminate monsters and all radioactive cans in a very original way ( experiment ... ). The task is not easy, as the time limit is very short".

  1. Looks really good, with nice animations, colour, and a lack of the clunkiness found in some of Gabriele's other games. Seems quite punishing though, making you start from scratch after a death. Thanks for the game.
