I love playing shoot 'em ups, especially games such as the fantastic classic Tyrian 2000, or the many list of Arcade titles running through home emulation or a well designed cabinet. Well thanks to another heads up from the developer known as Roartj(Roar Tjørhom), we've been told that not only is he still working a charming WW1 Shoot 'em up called 'Wings of Fear', but this teased game has recently got a big 2.0 demo for you to download and try right now on your Commodore Amiga.
And here's the full details. "Wings of Fear - demo V2.00 based on a game that is still in an alpha stage of development. This is my second playable demo of my Amiga game called Wings of Fear. Hopefully there will be a complete game in the "near" future. Time and response will tell! You control a Sopwith Camel double Decker (painted white and gold!) and are on a secret mission to find a hidden german base during WW1".
Dev Notes :
- I have had some great help with the code from Mixels and Zooperdan and testing from Tony Aksnes, Amiga Bill and Adrian Cummings.
- Márton Imre Gáspár has made the awesome tittle music. I have made all the animations and game assets my self using Asprite, Resprite and Procreate.
- To put it all together I have used Scorpion Engine from Eraok.
- Disclaimer: I have only used AI on the tittle screen and the highscore screen. The rest of the pictures and game assets have been drawn, pixlated and animated by me.
quite a fast game, shadows are nice but they look like another set of enemies.
ReplyDeleteLike that Beatles song: " It's getting better all the time ".
ReplyDeleteKeep it up Roartj.
It looks very promising so far.
Definitively an improvement over version 1.0 It would be nice to be able to destroy the train below and anti-aircraft guns for more gameplay variety. Dropping bombs on enemies would add to the gameplay.
