Deadband - This atmospheric Amiga game by Remanence Games is worth checking out [WIP]

Welcome to the latest tease of Deadband by Remanence Games, an upcoming atmospheric sci-fi horror game for the Commodore Amiga, currently in early development and featuring a narrative-driven experience. Players control a luminous energy creature traversing abandoned, hazardous laboratories while uncovering a forgotten catastrophe through exploration-heavy gameplay and puzzle mechanics. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided some early footage of the game that can be downloaded below the video.

The narrative follows a tragic protagonist who began life as an ordinary boy. While his parents worked inside a high-tech laboratory, he would play quietly with his toys. That peaceful reality shattered when emergency sirens blared, plunging the facility into absolute panic, chaos, and death. Amid the terror, a blinding flash of light consumed the room, followed by pitch darkness. The laboratory was subsequently sealed from the outside world. Decades passed with the boy's consciousness trapped inside the isolated facility. Now, a mysterious voice has commanded him to "wake up. Transformed into a luminous energy creature, you drift through abandoned underground laboratories filled with machines, traps and remnants of a forgotten catastrophe.

We’re experimenting with:

  • exploration-heavy gameplay
  • environmental storytelling
  • puzzle mechanics
  • tension and survival elements
  • action sequences and encounters

Current prototype includes:
  • 2 levels
  • core movement
  • interaction system
  • Early HUD with three distinctive energies.
  • simple inventory handling (pick up one thing, drop it elsewhere)
  • early environmental puzzles
Requirements:
  • As always we strive to support Amiga OCS / ECS - this title will probably require 1 mb chip, kickstart 2 and a floppy drive :-)
