While this might be the last news article for today as it's just too hot in the UK, ShaCPC has officially launched Panic! GX, an updated preservation of a classic 1980s retro title optimized for the Amstrad CPC Plus and GX4000. The project updates a vintage game originally created in 1986 by British programmer Roland A. Waddilove. Waddilove initially coded the title for the prominent UK publication Computing With The Amstrad. The game later reached international audiences when Amstrad Semanal magazine published a translated Spanish version in Spain.
ShaCPC’s new release revitalizes this 1980s gem by focusing entirely on smooth gameplay mechanics, modern hardware compatibility, and quality-of-life upgrades. The developer streamlined user interaction by rebuilding the menus to be fully navigable via joystick. Additionally, a new cheat toggle grants players the option to explore the game with infinite lives.
- Amstrad GX4000 Consoles: Fully supported when equipped with modern flash devices like the PicoGX or C4CPC.
- Amstrad CPC Computer Range: Completely compatible for users utilizing an M4 expansion device.

Great Panic! Modern version!
