Nova squadron of Hope - An upcoming arcade shooter developed for the Amiga using AMOS Professional

DjPiotrs has announced NOVA: Squadron of Hope, an upcoming arcade shooter built entirely in AMOS Professional for classic Amiga 500 and 1200 hardware. Channeling the spirit of early-1990s hits like Project-X, R-Type, and Turrican II, the title casts players as humanity's final defense against a mechanical army that has already decimated the outer colonies. Players will command a single ship that is part of a squadron through relentless enemy waves and large biomechanical bosses, all rendered in hand-drawn pixel art with crisp explosion effects and tight controls optimized for smooth performance on the Amiga.

The game is currently in active development with an official release planned for this coming November. While the initial launch will deliver the core high-octane atmosphere of classic Amiga shooters, the developer has already outlined a roadmap for future expansions. Upcoming updates are set to introduce a full campaign mode, additional weapon upgrades, new stages, enhanced visual effects, and even more boss encounters to expand the tactical experience.

Features:

  • fast, arcade‑style action
  • 64‑ship NOVA squadron
  • mechanical enemies and large bosses
  • classic Amiga 500/1200 atmosphere
  • hand‑drawn retro pixel art
  • built entirely in AMOS Professional
  • optimized for smooth performance on real hardware
