HairyViking has released the ZX Spectrum port of Porklike, a classic, turn-based roguelike originally created by Krystian Majewski for the Pico-8 virtual console. True to its roots, the 8-bit adaptation preserves the minimalist, lo-fi aesthetic of the original while redesigning the experience to run seamlessly on the iconic ZX Spectrum. The game tasks players with infiltrating the treacherous tower of the nefarious Wurstlord, navigating nine levels packed with hazardous traps, deadly blockades, and hostile encounters.
To survive the descent into the fortress and successfully pull off the ultimate heist—stealing the Wurstlord’s legendary Kielbasa—players must carefully calculate every move and fully exploit their character's specialized abilities. The tactical, step-by-step gameplay requires meticulous planning, punishing careless errors while rewarding strategy. Built with broad accessibility for retro enthusiasts, the port functions on real hardware (browser based too!) and features flexible control schemes, allowing players to conquer the tower using either standard keyboard inputs or classic Kempston, Sinclair, and Cursor joysticks.
