Lemmings Reloaded - This enhanced version of a classic looks awesome for the C64 and you can play it NOW!

Ask anyone about Lemmings, and their first memories, would probably be about a bunch of blue and green haired Lemmings that could be blown up, ripped apart and dropped from the highest of points before they even hope to reach that exit. So why is that great game getting another mention on Indie Retro News? Well, there's glorious news today! As Jörg Karwath and team has finally released the enhanced version of Lemmings for the C64. An overhauled version that can be seen in the very latest footage provided below.

Thirty-two years after a Commodore 64 port of the iconic puzzler was first released into the wild, a dedicated group of fans has finally delivered a massive, non-commercial tribute to the beloved Lemmings franchise. This completely free 2026 cartridge release expands on the 1991 Amiga classic with 123 distinct stages—combining original maps, rare ports, and entirely new designs—while implementing a modern star-rating system that breathes fresh life into this incredible classic. Packed with 30 nostalgic SID chiptune tracks by Nordischsound accessible via an in-game jukebox, the project saves all your high scores directly to the cartridge memory and features a flexible level select screen that still respects the classic password codes of the 90s.

  1. Perfect mouse controls, super fun game anyway, and very different but awesome music! :3 And boy, I'm like, at level 17 and already things are getting a good bit tricky. I never played this so much that I learned EVERY level so I could play it in my sleep -- also some of them are all new! What a year for the Commodore 64 it's gonna be, ... wow!
