Is this a new pirates game coming to the C64 by Space Moguls creator C-H Skårstedt?
Here on Indie Retro News we love featuring games at their early stages and watching them develop over the months or years into a fully fledged amazing release. Sid Meier's Pirates! On the ZX Spectrum? Well here's Black Flag!

It is incredible to think that the original Sid Meier's retro gaming hit of 'Pirates!', from way back in the late 80's can still be played today and enjoyed by people of all ages. It had you sailing your very own ship such as a fast sloop, capturing other ships, looking for treasure, sword fighting on deck, and marrying a rather pretty lady! The problem was however, that even though it was a highly addictive game and appeared on the Amiga, Amiga CD32, Apple II/IIGS, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and many others, it did not appear on the ZX Spectrum. Atleast until now...
Sid Meier's Pirates! - One of the best games I've ever played, Yarrr!

In fact it was a highly addictive game that appeared on the Amiga, Amiga CD32, Apple II/IIGS, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and many others. So if you want to play this game right now without setting any emulators up, here's the Amiga version ready to be launched on a home PC!
Abandon Ship - Sail the seas exploring a diverse, procedurally generated world!
Throughout the years ever since I played the Amiga game Pirates! I've had this longing for a damn good Pirates game, and to be honest I've yet to play one as good, even though I was a huge fan of Port Royale and Tortuga. But Abandon Ship by Fireblade Software which is due to be released this year, COULD be the one to set that high bar. You see Abandon Ship isn't just your average looking ship sailing, combat game, but you command a ship and her crew, exploring a diverse, procedurally generated world, taking on quests and dealing with random events framed in an Art Style inspired by classic Naval Oil Paintings!
Sid Meier's Pirates! On the ZX Spectrum? Well sort of
It is incredible to think that the original Sid Meier's retro gaming hit of 'Pirates!', from way back in the late 80's can still be played today and enjoyed by people of all ages. So an artist by the name of 4thRock has done a what if of Pirates!, with images converted over to the ZX Spectrum!
