In 1987 Lucasfilms released the critically acclaimed graphic adventure of Maniac Mansion. It had for it's time fantastic graphics, animation, humour and story telling with its point-and-click interface becoming a standard feature in the genre. Also not long ago the same team behind the game Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick even smashed their Kickstarter goal for an adventure in that very same style called ' Thimbleweed Park '. So how would you like to play a new fan adventure in the same graphics as Maniac Mansion, but a tribute to the C64 game of Murder on the Mississippi? Welcome to ' Maniac on the Mississippi ' by Elvis Tanner.
With this fan based adventure of Maniac on the Mississippi, this is a celebration of Elvis glorious debut among Maniac Mansion Mania Episode developers. Maniac on the Mississippi is indeed a tribute to Murder on the Mississippi from the C64. Quite as murderous as it gets but to the point, instead, Dr. Fred is on a cruise for purposes of recreation and leisure. But one can imagine that it is not quite so relaxing as a recreational cruise on the Mississippi turns into a madcap adventure when retired physician Dr. Fred Edison meets a seductive blonde!
