Space Harrier coming to the Atari XL/XE gets an update!


The news just gets better and better, as if you thought the arcade conversion of Popeye coming to the ZX Spectrum was a good story, then you'll be pleased to learn that just moments ago we have found out that the arcade classic of ' Space Harrier ' will be coming to the ATARI XE/XL as a conversion by Chris Hutt with music by Sal Esquivel!


Space Harrier created by legendary developer, Yu Suzuki, responsible for many other popular Sega games, was an arcade video game developed and released by Sega Enterprises in December 1985, with the technology to use Sega's Super Scaler 16-bit graphics - Producing pseudo-3D sprite-scaling, the ability to scale as many as 32,000 sprites, and 6144 colours on screen all at high frame rates. The game was also ported to over twenty different home computer and gaming platforms, which included the Amiga, Game Gear, Master System, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, C64, ZX Spectrum, NES, Sega 32X, Saturn and many others!
