Joust - Long lost AtariSoft C64 conversion of Joust has been found and released!

This is incredible news especially if you have a C64, as the classic Arcade game of 'Joust', which was released on many different systems such as the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Atari 8-bit, Lynx, Atari ST, IBM PC, Mac and NES by Atarisoft, developed by William Electronics. Has not only been fully recovered, but as of today you can download the game and try it out on your Commodore 64! This game that was originally due for release in 1984 for the C64 and never happened at the time due to the collapse of the company, was fully preserved way back in May 2020, all thanks to Ken Van Mersbergen who contacted GTW!

Although a fully detailed write up and history of the game Joust can be found on the main gamesthatwerent website. Sufficed to say this is a fabulous release for the C64 and highly recommend for everyone to give it a try atleast once. As for the actual gameplay, Joust is an arcade game whereby you control a knight riding his very own flying ostrich that had to defeat other flying enemies while also trying not to be grabbed by the ever present hand from below!
