  1. Because any other new C64 game isn't a nostalgic journey back to childhood?

    1. I think that most new c64 games are trying to do new things with old hardware. LESTER and Aisle of the Lost Prophet for example are quite different to what I remember on the c64 growing up.

  2. Sure - it is marketing blah blah. But this statement also refers to my own childhood which was in the early 80's. Games were simple but fun. The games I remember so fondly were made by individual developers. As a result these games all had their individual charme and style. With Timo's Castle we chose to go for game design and not for technical marvel.

    1. Though no 80's C64 games had these extremely crowded bitmap styled backgrounds, that is more of a 90's thing, "new retro" even where developers try to show off how much they can pack on a screen.

  5. Legend of Wilf is the same type of game, but free and like ten times bigger.

    1. 1. Legend of Wilf is a conversion of an existing game. Therefore under copyright. If you ask for money for such a fan-game then there is a chance that you can get into trouble.
      2. The developer of Legend of Wilf does not give the game away for free but offers it as "Name your own price".
      3. If you downloaded Legend of Wilf with a price of 0 then you not only lack respect for the developer's effort but also harm the C64 developer scene with your attitude.

    2. This game is also a conversion of an existing game, but because of his attitude they had to change the name and characters. Read the previous topic.

    3. What are you talking about 11:08. The vast majority of C64 developers still gives their games away for free with no option to donate even.

  6. I can see why it wasn’t named Henrys Castle, it looks quite similar to an old game with Henrys in the title 😉 lovely looking update to the original though
