Ultima Underworld – The Stygian Abyss ( Pc Gamer Article )

The news keeps on coming and it's past 1am, I'll need my sleep soon but what the heck this game is worthy of posting and it's the great Ultima Underworld - The Stygian Abyss !. Pc Gamer have just done a rather nice article on this great RPG classic, which was published by Origin Systems in 1992 and sold nearly 500,000 units.

For me, then, Underworld is almost the perfect RPG – control issues notwithstanding. It has influenced, directly and indirectly, the Elder Scrolls series, the Deus Ex games, Half-Life 2, System Shock (Warren Spector was the game’s later producer), BioShock, Tomb Raider and frankly just about every 3D RPG that has since appeared.
