Atlantian Preview - The ultimate gladiatorial C64 combat game appears.

Just moments ago and out of the blue, Achim of Mayday and RGCD released an early preview version of the ultimate gladiatorial game ' Atlantian ' on the C64. Developed by Achim Volkers, Trevor Storey and Linus with publishing by Psytronik Software, this game was due to be released at some point between 2015 and 2016, however in late 2015 the development was put on hold and it wasn't until now that a preview version was made available.

Which is a shame it was never completed for a commercial release, as the listed features looked very impressive indeed , for example : a stunning animated intro sequence, gorgeous backdrops, superb animation, over 10 combat moves, bonus round along with atmospheric soundtracks and even cool sound effects!

Sadly however in this preview everything noted in the features is missing. It doesn't have the intro, there's no sound, no music and you can't do much in the game other than try out the different moves which usually brings down the health only for it to go back up again. Which is a huge downer because from the look of the game and how the characters actually fight, it harks back to the days of Barbarian, just with less head chopping. But at least the backgrounds are nice and the animations are pretty cool.

Thanks to Achim for giving the community the chance to play this preview and screenshots were taken using WinVice 2.4 with no filters ;)
