The Caribbean Sail - Nautical game inspired by Oregon Trail classic releases tomorrow! (19th Sept)

This is great news if you were a huge fan of the 8-bit Apple II frontier game ' Oregon Trail ', as we've recently been told by Victorian Clambake that their upcoming game ' The Caribbean Sail ', will be released tomorrow on Steam in celebration of  Talk Like a Pirate Day. A game which is inspired by that golden classic ended up as a Steam Greenlight success, and as from tomorrow you'll be sailing across the ocean from London to Nassau in the 1700's with only your logbook, your sailors and a crate of food to keep you company.

The Caribbean Sail is an 8bit adventure about sailing the Atlantic in the 1700's, with all the storms, pirates, naval combat, diseases and bad luck that went with sailing as it did all those years ago. But if that wasn't enough since going greenlight, the developer has added in new events too like crossing reefs (Similar to rivers in the Oregon Trail), abandoned ships, injuries, infections, amputations, the plague and if you're able to get a bit of peace on the open waters, you can listen to an 8-bit soundtrack of traditional naval tunes to accompany you on your perilous voyage!

Seriously if you are sick and tired of the traditional gaming experience and want something fresh you owe it to yourself to check this game out, oh and two large content expansions are being developed and will be added for free such as plotting your own course, visiting new locations and fantastic legends of the sea, myths, monsters, and more brought to life!
