Pole Position - Arcade conversion to the Atari ST is looking pretty damn sweet

During the late 80's Namco released a brilliant arcade racing game called Pole Position, which was designed by Tōru Iwatani, designer of Pac-Man, ending up as one of the most popular arcade racing games of 1982-3. A game which also appeared on multiple systems including the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64/128, Commodore VIC-20, Intellivision, Vectrex, MS-DOS, TI-99/4A and Sinclair ZX Spectrum is about to be shown off as a very high grade conversion and on the Atari ST!

Yes thanks to a heads up by our good friends AtariCrypt who has also done the gif above, have mentioned that this fast paced racing in a Formula One car with full-colour landscapes and scaling sprites, has recently been updated as a kick ass release with the game engine now running at 60fps, just like the arcade original (Thanks to various performance increases). Not only that, they also go on to say there have been many other improvements that have been fixed like the sky gradient, billboards, sprites and much more.

So for further details about this awesome looking conversion either check out the news update by Atari Crypt or download the file here (a minimum of a 1mb Atari STe is required)
