Pico-8's biggest adventure game yet is an absolute cracker! Beautiful lighting effects... Check! interesting puzzle element? Check! Sprawling map... Check! This game is so good I'm not even sure if it is legally allowed to be on Pico-8 ;)
Dank Tomb is a kind of Rick Dangerous meets tomb raider puzzle adventure, and while the large level map and keen room design are already high bars for P8 dev, it's the lighting that really steals the show.
The whole game is only lit from the players' lantern and the light only casts a short range before it all starts going dank again. the whole setup is really trick and makes amazing use of the limited palette where the light drops off
Of course this isn't just a tech demo for light effects, but also a fully fledged 2D adventure game with some really tasty puzzles.

All in all, Dank meme Tomb is the slickest and most polished games I've seen yet on P8 (and it's been playable for over a year now. The game can be played in-browser for free (including the actual P8 client via splore mode) but if you buy it from the itch.io page, you'll get some extras thrown in, like the back story PDF and the fully commented source code.
