I thought to myself today it's been some time since we had any Zelda style games on Indie Retro News, but thankfully I came across one that doesn't only look like a Zelda game, but it almost looks like an original Gameboy title. This game announced as coming to Steam soon, is called " Timothy and the Mysterious Forest " by Kibou Entertainment; an "old school" style with some modern-age ideas. A mix of Game Boy graphics (heavily inspired from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening) along with meta-narrative, stealth system and action combat with high level difficulty.
The game mixes elements from adventure/exploration games with puzzle and stealth: exploration, reading and keeping a slow pace is the best tactic with three available endings. The world is full of ruins, graveyards and tombstones, caves, swamps and weird characters: every place is made to look wild, abandoned and dangerous, with features such as over 5 hours of gameplay, direct combat, throwable items, intelligent enemies, a fairytale story with plot twists, and finally Game Boy styled graphics with scanlines and a 4:3 ratio.
