While many C64 owners are still drooling over the thought of playing Eye of the Beholder on their Commodore 64, other Dungeon Crawlers with a PC at hand however may be interested to know that the award-winning steampunk dungeon crawler Vaporum, will be getting a prequel as of next year by Fatbot Games called Vaporum: Lockdown; a grid-based crawler in an original steampunk setting, and inspired by old-school games like Dungeon Master I and II, the Eye of the Beholder series, and the more recent Legend of Grimrock I and II.
As noted by the Steam page Vaporum: Lockdown follows the story of Lisa Teller, a scientist who is a part of a mysterious research project in the middle of an ocean. Following disastrous events, she struggles to survive and escape the tower of Arx Vaporum. You will encounter nasty enemies with unique strengths and attack patterns. To beat them, you will have to employ a broad array of weapons, gadgets, upgrades, and smart tactics, with the game featuring the ability to stop time, puzzles, objectives, exploration loot and much much more.
