Another new game to grace our retro computers, is Picaro Games newest of homebrews called 'Randoom Ancient Stones. An Arcade game in which you must embark on an epic odyssey through sacred temples and ancient sites to claim the ten vital keys, and unveil the secret that lies beyond the veil of fate. To coincide with this news, we've provided the full details, as well as footage from the game provided by Saberman.
And here's the details. "The objective is to absorb the spirit of all the Sentinels that appear throughout the 10 sacred temples. Each temple consists of 3 screens that share the same stage but differ in the configuration of their platforms. Each Sentinel has a unique color, and must be captured in a specific order. The player’s color indicates the next enemy we must capture, and if we collide with a different one, we’ll lose a life. Once all Sentinels have been captured, a stargate will appear, that we must pass through to access the next level".
Update : A new 2.0 version has been released and here are the following changes.
Several visual glitches fixed:
- -When a bubble appeared, the hunter sprite briefly appeared in the first frame.
- -When obtaining extra life, if there were Golems on screen, one of them would momentarily change colour to grey.
- -When entering the stargate, if there was a counter running, a ‘1’ would sometimes appear briefly in the upper right corner.
- Added ‘Full random’ game mode. In this mode, the colour order of the sentinels varies randomly on each screen.

DeleteNice! By the way can you post in English on the site. I've had some abusive posts in the past which didn't show up until I translated it. So its now English only :(
DeleteOops! Sorry! You're right!
DeleteAwesome, looks promising. Already enjoyed Randoom years ago.
ReplyDeleteVery Nice !!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Release !!
I've been hooked on this game since the first version came out. Absolutely solid, addiction gameplay. It has the same "just one more level" feel of Super Pang! and Bubble Bobble for me.
ReplyDeleteIf I had any criticism, is that in the "busier" levels, sometimes two or more enemies will cluster and move in unison on top of one another for a while which can suddenly put the player in a holding pattern. Not sure if this was by design or not but it can be frustrating.
